Meditation tatami 3 folds

The large meditation Tatami 3 folds is designed to be used on the floor and on a hard surface. The position of the meditator is of paramount importance in many meditative practices. The Thai meditation tatami is covered with a strong and harmonious weave. The straw is woven across the entire width of the tatami without any straw joints. Thai fabric braid hand-stitched with double stitching.

Advice for use: Do not walk on the tatami with shoes or slippers. Do not place heavy, sharp or pointed objects on the tatami. Do not walk on the tatami with sweaty feet, it could cause stains.

Maintenance : Clean the dust with a dry cloth. Do not wash the Japanese tatami with too much water. To clean stains use a wet cloth. In case of stains difficult to remove you can use a wet cloth with lemon water or with diluted vinegar. Dry the tatami well in the sun after cleaning or use a hair dryer to dry it completely. After use, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth before storing it. When not in use, store it in a dry, well-ventilated place.

Straw grows in the highlands of northern Thailand. It has been known for centuries for its flexibility, strength and lightness. When woven, straw acquires a raised texture, which stimulates blood circulation and also provides a massaging effect. Its fibres naturally contain innumerable microscopic holes that serve as air vents. They provide good insulation, keeping warm in winter and cool in summer.

Each part contains a zip closing which is possible to change the polyethylene patches inside. These patches are protected by the covers.
